A Trip Down Memory Lane - June 26
On this day in 1978, Stephen Schnetzer made his soap opera debut in the role of Steve Olson (Julie's brother) on Days of our Lives. Gone since 1980, he made a short-term return to the show in late 2024, appearing for the memorial of the late character Doug Williams. Best known for the role of Cass Winthrop on Another World, Schnetzer is currently acting in the hit digital drama series The Bay.In 1983 - The ABC series, Loving, made its debut as a two-hour primetime movie and, on the next day, became a half-hour weekday soap opera. On the air for a dozen years, some of the show's notable cast members include Randolph Mantooth (Alex Masters), Lisa Peluso (Ava Rescott Masters) and Anthony Herrera (Dane Hammond). Current Y&R star Roger Howarth (Matt Clark) began his acting career on Loving after being discovered during a nationwide talent search.
In 1986, Tricia Cast made her soap opera debut as the fan-favorite character Nina Webster on The Young and the Restless. She continues to reprise the role every now and then along with managing an online artisan shop selling classic winter white knits through her Etsy Store.
