On this day in 1967, Jonathan Frid made his debut in the role of Barnabas Collins on Dark Shadows. His character was first introduced at the end of the previous episode - merely a hand reaching out of a coffin to grab character, Willie Loomis.In 1975, the finale of How to Survive a Marriage aired on NBC. The show was cancelled to make room for the expansion of Days of our Lives from a 30-minute serial to a full hour.
In 2005, actress Jennifer Bransford took over the role of Carly Corinthos on General Hospital. Within six months, Bransford would be replaced by current GH star, Laura Wright. Wright has continued to play the role of Carly on GH for over 20 years.
