On this day in 1972, Academy Award winning actress, Susan Sarandon, made her debut in the role of murderous drifter, Sarah Fairbanks, on Search for Tomorrow. Sarandon had previously appeared in the short-lived ABC soap opera, A World Apart.In 1989 - Another World star, Douglass Watson (Mac Cory), passed away at the age of 68. He won 2 Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Actor in 1980 and 1981 and was under contract with the show when he suffered a fatal heart attack while on vacation. His character on Another World would die shortly afterward.
In 2004 - Passions co-stars, Lindsay Korman (Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald) and Justin Hartley (Fox Crane), were married. Korman filed for divorce in 2012. Hartley is currently married to his third wife, actress Sofia Pernas (ex-Marisa Sierras, Y&R).
